The Regional Sales Head is responsible for leading and executing sales strategies across a designated region to achieve revenue, volume, and market share targets. This role oversees distributor management, field sales teams, retail/channel performance, and trade marketing execution within the FMCG sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional sales plans aligned with national goals and brand strategies.
- Forecast sales volumes and monitor market demand, pricing, and competitor activities.
- Set sales targets for area/regional teams and ensure achievement through effective execution
- Manage and strengthen relationships with channel partners (distributors, wholesalers, retailers).
- Oversee distributor ROI, stock planning, billing, claims, and secondary sales management.
- Optimize route-to-market (RTM) strategies to increase distribution efficiency and reach.
- Monitor in-store execution, merchandising, and trade marketing activities.
- Ensure execution of promotional campaigns and trade schemes.
- Track outlet coverage, productivity, and market hygiene KPIs (OOS, visibility, availability).
- Analyze sales performance and generate regular reports with insights and recommendations.
- Collect competitive intelligence and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
